Client Based Email
Client based email has the advantage in that you can store as much email on your computer as you want and save it for as long as you would like. The only limit is the size of your hard drive. An advantage of client email is the fact that you can read, write, and reply to email while you are off-line. A big advantage of web based email is that you can access it from any computer in the world that has an Internet connection. Nevertheless, web based emails usually limit the amount of email messages you can store on the server, and may seem a little slower because the commands you must give must travel to the connecting web site. http://www.stedwards.edu/it_dept/competency/module2/Lesson7/emailclientvsweb.htm
Another disadvantage with web based email is when you need to share files. Gmail for example limits attachments, so if you have a file larger than that, you have to break the file up using a program like winRAR.
